Factory Fun Day [July]
The fourth consecutive Annual Fun Day was held in the grounds of the Factory Skatepark on Saturday 25th July 11am-3pm.
This event was even bigger than last year with the number and variety of activities increasing. The event funded by Fairer Scotland took place on a glorious sunny day with over 900 people attending.
Visitors were able to enjoy a host of activities, including balloon sculpture, face painting, sumo wrestling and bungee running. The climbing wall was a great success as was the display of birds of prey. There were a good range of activities for the whole family younger members attending.
One of the many highlights of the day was the Muscle cars which were a great hit with all the men present and also the children who were allowed to sit in them.
50 Session passes including equipment hire were made available to local young people. These allowed the holders to use the Skatepark facilities free for two hours throughout the day.
The demonstration by Tay Racers of their remote control cars was a great hit with people marvelling as the cars launched themselves over the ramps
A big thank you to the staff present for their hard work on the day and to all the organisations and individuals who helped make this a memorable community event. A special thanks to the Scottish Ambulance Service, Tayside Police and Tayside Fire and Rescue Service, who made time to come along and engage so well with those attending the Fun Day.
Very positive feedback from the occasion has been received proving that by working together in such a way we have made a difference in our local community.
